Lana accepts no barriers

Mommy and Daddy left Lana alone in her room, confident that the barrier they have set will protect her from reaching the stairs. This is how they found her 2 mins later!!

Lana, stronger than pyelonephritis

Month 9: January 03 2010

Lana was curious to know where daddy goes every day. On Sunday night, she woke up and demanded to go visit daddy's work place. Mommy and daddy, being obedient parents, took her to the emergency room of Herman Memorial Children hospital. After a couple of foley catheter and one IV, Lana had enough, and no longer wanted to see the rest of the hospital. So mommy and daddy took her back home around 07:00AM. Diagnostic: pyelonephritis. Lana will start antibiotic. The reason is probably because she was dehydrated, because she was refusing to eat and drink the past few days.

Month 8: December 31 2009

Milestones this month:

  • Lana is practicing high speed crawling.
  • She can stand on her knees without any help or support.
  • She stands on her tip toes while holding on to something.
  • While cruising on her parent's bed, she stops when she reaches the extremity, and looks down carefully, aware that she might fall.
  • She has not developed any stranger anxiety so far. On the contrary, she likes other people, and reaches to play with them.
  • On the other hand, she developed some anxiety to change. She complained when daddy lowered her bed level, and added a new carpet to her room. She seemed anxious about what was happening to her bed. But this went away pretty fast.
  • She fears loud noises like the vacuum cleaner. She jumps and starts crying when the vacuum is on. And she holds very tight to mommy and daddy. Last time though, daddy held her and she did not cry. She was looking curiously at mommy vacuuming, but she made sure she is grabbing daddy very well to insure she is well protected from this evil monster that makes a loud sound.
